  • A short-term group has come from Tacoma, Washington.  Pray for safety in travel and that God would impact these young high school students for a life dedicated to Christ.
  • Pray that God would provide the 10-12 supporters so that I may be able to depart for Guatemala full time.  I have been given permission to work with Huehue Ministries on a part-time basis until I am fully supported.

Many new prayer requests have come in from Guatemala:

* Pray for the completion of the Old Testament translations into the native languages.   There are 13 more to go.

* Pray for the Nelsons’s who are mentoring Pastors and Pastors wives.  Pray for sensitivity to the Holy Spirit as they work with training local leaders.

* Pray that I would minister to those around me as I share the opportunity to join with me in ministering to the Guatemalan church.

Research Convention:
For one week I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a workshop with other “researchers”.  It was one of those experiences in my life where I actually felt like I didn’t have to explain myself (why I am the way I am).  I understood what was being talked about intuitively and wanted to jump into the process … BUT I am not ready yet.  However, here are a few things that I am excited about knowing that once I get on the field, the opportunity to do what GOD has designed me for will come my way in HIS timing.

A Researchers Devotional:

The Question

Conclusions

The Data

What We Do

Who We Are

What it Means

Num. 13:17-20, 30-31 Survey Caleb Faith & Obedience
Joshua 12:1,7; 13:1 Monitor Joshua
1 Chron. 12:32Matt. 9:36Luke 10:30-34 Participant ObservationTrends Analysis Issachar
Neh. 2:11-18 Case StudyStrategic Planning Nehemiah
Gen. 18:22-30 Harvest Field (Analysis) Abraham
Ex. 32:7-14 Harvest Force Moses
Ez. 22:28-30 Prophetic Message Ezekiel

When I saw the outline for this devotional, I was so excited – I guess that makes me a researcher :)

Question: Who in the text is doing a “research role”: Column 3; What kind of research are they doing in the text: Column 2.  And what is our response? Faith and Obedience.

Analysis: When we are doing our work – it is not about how much information we use – it is about leading people into faith and obedience.

New Prayer Requests May 24
  • Praise God, the financial support is coming in … less than $1100 left to raise: about 22 people at $50 a month
  • Pray for wisdom in planning my travels for the next 3 months.
  • There is still a Spiritual Battle, and I appreciate your prayers.

Please Pray

Warfare!  Battle!

As I look at the headlines of this world, I am reminded that each day is one sunset closer to Jesus’ return.  That is one less day to tell others of Christ’s victory over death and the power of darkness.  This realization drives me to want to get to the mission field “NOW”.

Will you help me spread the WORD?  Will you speak the WORD of GOD – the GOOD News to all you know?  Will you tell them about Jesus?

Please Pray.  Go on to the Prayer Request page to find a more detailed request list.

WorshipResearch – Resource

Through a recent trip to Guatemala, I was able to identify three areas in which God has gifted me to work in Missions.

Worship: My talent in music provides me with an opportunity to worship with the local church.  This platform provides invitations and introductions to the various churches in the community.  As a result, relationships are formed with leaders.

Research:  As relationships are developed, I will be able to ask questions and begin to research how GOD is moving and working withing the church.  How can the church more effectively reach their community?  Are the leaders asking for help in training and resources that are available?  What are the needs of the community?

Resource: As needs and resources are identified by local leaders, our TEAM will be able to connect church leaders with resources and training.  Through partnerships with other organizations, God’s children will be strengthened.

Report – Jan. 25

Contentment:  “Are you frustrated or disappointed that you are not in Guatemala?”  This question has been asked in many ways.  In reality, I am content the God’s timing is perfect.  As I continue to do my part in meeting with people and sharing the vision of reaching rural Guatemala with others, I am confident that God will provide for the needs.  I have been asked to discover 20-25 more financial partners before I leave.  God is able to do this and I am content to wait in HIS presence.  It will come.  In the meantime, I will continue to share the vision, serve my local community with music, and encouraging others in Christ.
