Merry Christmas!

So I had a great time with family this Christmas.  A special surprise showed up with my brother – a cute little girl named Vella!  There is something about children that really encourages me to love more and give more.

Well, I may have missed Christmas tidings, but I’m not going to miss New Years!

I plan on eating “New Years Cookies” and watching Football.

As to fireworks?  No idea – maybe, maybe not.  It depends on where they are in the sky!  I will miss the fireworks that you see in Guatemala.  Those are incredible because they go one for a long time – with very beautiful displays.  The sound deserves earplugs, which is how I enjoy them.  My favorite fireworks that don’t “Shoot in the sky”, are “Blosoms”, and “Machine guns” – the one you find in Guatemala that set off over 100 ‘retorts’ before the “BIG ONE” at the end.

Well – Next year in Guatemala!

Two highlights came from the trip: Playing kickball on the beach and bike riding with my brother and niece.  The second highlight was speaking at the “Saturday night service”.

While I don’t have any camping gear, I do know people who are willing to provide.  I think I’ll call it a working vacation.  For at least a couple days I still have work to do – and people to visit.  Pray for opportunities to share.  May God bless this trip.

Oh the exciting part:  I will be able to make memories with family!  This will be something I cherish when I get to Guatemala and not see them for a while.

This is a cry for help!

I need 20 more people to send in financial support to OC International before I can leave.

How does this work?

God has called me to work full-time in Guatemala to help the local churches grow and expand.  Who pays my salary?  You do.

By sending in an amount to One Challenge (OCI) consistently, you along with 40 other individuals will provide the funds necessary to live in Guatemala, communicate with you and my prayer partners, and minister to the local people.

The money that has been given so far is accumulating to cover first-time expenses like language study and moving expenses.

Some have chosen to begin their giving at the time I leave.  They have informed me of this decision – and I can count that towards my pledges.   However, I can’t count a pledge I don’t know about.  If you would like to begin your support the month that I leave, please let me know now.  Until I can show headquarters that I am fully supported (100% of $3500), I can not purchase a ticket.

I am confident that God is sending me to Guatemala:  is HE asking you to help me?

This is as bold as I will ever get.  I’m so close I can “feel the breeze”.  Please, if God is moving in you to support me, send me an e-mail: hildereimer@oci.org  and let me know if you can pledge to give consistently.  It can be once a year, once a month or every two months; it is the consistency that counts.

Don’t know how long you can give?  That’s okay – make the first step and trust God to provide you with the funds for however long HE provides.

Many of my friends want to support financially, but can not because of the economy.  They can help in two ways: Pray that GOD would provide the financial partners (or provide them with the funds), and tell their friends about me.  Can you be my champion?  Will you be willing to fight for me: to ask others if they can give consistently or pray consistently?

The Spiritual Battle is strong:  I can feel it.  Some are praying, but my strength is weak.  I am fighting a cold that historically hangs around for up to a month!  And while I am encouraged with new prayer partners joining every day: I am dancing like a horse that is ready to run.  I do want to go.  I just don’t know who to call or what to do next.  Can you help?  Please Pray for this Post, pray for my health, pray for boldness, pray for GOD to move people, and people to move in response to GOD.  It is GOD’s work that I will be joining; HIS ministry that HE has given to me for this time.

Growing Plants: My Mother’s Garden is absolutely incredible. I’ve been watching a plant near my window that is growing up a trellis 4 to 6 inches a day. It is incredible watching here garden flower and how there are different flowers at different times. Earlier in the year it was the irises and now there everything including strawberries, raspberries, lettuce, and beautiful flowers! A few months ago we brought home two climbing roses. Mom thought that one of them was dead and I was so disappointed that I will admit that I prayed to God that He would bless the plant and let it grow: and today it is the bigger of the two! We are both excited over the growth and buds that are showing up.

Of well – the joys and sorrows of a new computer.  

So I’m off to see the wizards of new programs and the sights of new “sites”.  Until next time – enjoy the new updates!

I am so close!  As a result of the faithfulness of many people, all of the Outgoing Expenses are in! (The one-time needed expenses that usually occur during the first couple of years but not afterward)

After meeting with my Team Leader, I have been assured that once I have reached  my Monthly Support Requirement, I will be able to leave.  In a step of faith, I have been signed up for Transition Orientation this August.  This orientation is the final training that is given before deployment.  My desire in the next month is to welcome 75 new prayer partners (receiving my e-mails or Prayer Letters) by that date.  In addition, if it is God’s timing; I would like to purchase a ticket in July – to leave for Guatemala in August.  I will need to show the organization 100% funding by July in order to purchase the ticket.  However, God is able to do many things – and may HE be glorified in all this.

Thank you for all of you who pray for me.

Please forgive me for taking so long to update the site.  It has been a very busy “month”.  During the first week of May I visited Vancouver, and then helped my Mother with a Garage sale.  On the day of the sale, I flew out of the Tri-Cities to Colorado Springs, Colorado.  I spent two weekends there, and during the week of the 9th-13th, I was at a Research Convention.  After arriving back in Tri-Cities for about 24 hours, I drove up to Idaho to take part in a “mini-workshop”.  Then back to Tri-Cities for the weekend where I saw my Dad for a hours before he left.  Today I am back in Vancouver.  I am getting some help with “organization” that I desperately need, but feel helpless to do.

Which means I can concentrate on what needs to get done: Communicate!

So expect to here more from me in the future!

What was Jesus’ purpose when he “tested” Philip in the feeding of the 5,000 men?  It says that Jesus already knew what he was going to do – so what was Jesus going to learn by testing Philip?  Maybe, it wasn’t Jesus – but Philip who learned something.  What did Philip learn when Jesus tested him?  What do I learn when Jesus tests me?  WAIT – God tests me?

It has been very beautiful in Alberta .  Although I have been very busy, I’ve enjoyed the snow very much!  Yet even now I am reminded of God’s incredible faithfulness.

There is a SimplyTheStory Workshop in Alberta.  My goal is to serve and to continue to gain experience.

What is so exciting for me is that my team in Guatemala just held a workshop.  What I’m learning now – will be used in Guatemala!
