Well, it has been over a year since I posted on this page. Why? Because for the first time last year, I did not work for Holland America/Gray Line Alaska / Princess Tours. So if you have questions about my travels in Alaska past and present … Well, the past is here, the present will be found elsewhere … (cure eerie music)…..

I really – really – miss Alaska. It snowed this morning, but it didn’t stay. A few weeks ago it was 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit, but it warmed up. I like the cold because it kills off whatever I’m allergic to. I like the snow because it is soft – wet only when you take it inside – and it reminds me of God’s promise to make us clean. I’m missing my friends in Fairbanks – the fun we had this summer was memorable, and I’m missing my Church home there. Is it possible? I actually miss my church home in Washington when I’m in Alaska – and miss my church home in Alaska when I’m in Washington. You could say that this is only the beginning of understanding the missionary life.
May you enjoy the weather where you are – and please send me as much snow as you can

Summer 2009

Eagle, Alaska:
A visit to Eagle before the beginning of the season is a blessing. I do not know when I will return. As most of you know, Eagle was inundated with ice this spring break-up. As I am traveling to Colorado Springs mid-June, it may be late July before I visit Eagle again.
Here are some photos from the Taylor Highway and the highway between Tok and Fairbanks early in the season…
New Page!
My mother and I traveled the Alaska Highway this spring. Bringing up a car to Alaska provided me with the transportation that I will need this summer while working for “HAPA”; Holland America Princess Alaska is the name of the new company that I am working for. While we are providing the same services, I have an opportunity to do a Princess tour in addition to the Holland Tour.

Here is a site where you can connect to all my pages on Alaska.
I truly do love Alaska and hope to retire there some day. The land – untouched as if it has been handed down from God to humans, is so beautiful. The people are friendly. It is in Alaska that I truly feel close to God. If you would like any information on Alaska, or to see additional pictures, or have me write more stories, PLEASE: Drop me a comment and I’ll get to it as I am able.
Alaskan Journal: A page that was trumped by my Posting. So it didn’t work out the way I had hoped.

Fairbanks: Pictures of Fairbanks, Alaska
Eagle, Alaska: Pictures of Eagle, Alaska and the Taylor Highway

Unless otherwise noted, most of these picures are from the summer of 2008. Until I have more ‘time’, it will be a while before I can get some older photos on the site.
Hope you have fun, and please drop me a comment on what you’d like to see!
